FAQ's
How does a toy library work?
It works just like a book library, except you borrow toys, games and puzzles! For more information check out our Membership and Pricing page.
When are you open?
We are open every Saturday from 9–10:30am. We close for Easter and over the Christmas holiday period. Check our calendar for up-to-date info.
Who can join?
Everyone! Parents, Grandparents and carers – anyone who needs toys to entertain and engage kids. While our toys are primarily aimed at children aged 0-8, we welcome families with children of all ages and abilities.
Where are you located?
We are located in the Manning Community Centre at 2 Conochie Cres in Manning. We are in the Early Years room opposite the Child Health Nurse.
How many toys can I borrow?
Members can borrow up to 5 toys and 2 games/puzzles for 3 weeks, with the option to renew toys for a further 2 weeks.
You can visit the Toy Library as often as you like to swap toys over.
What does a Volunteer Duty involve?
Duty is from 8:45am- 10:45am on a Saturday, and involves helping with counting, loaning and returning the toys. You can select the dates that suit you for duty.
You will work alongside a committee member who will show you what to do. It's easy and fun, and it's a great way to meet other families and to see all the toys we have as they come in. We also have non-volunteering membership options if this suits your family circumstances better.
Overdue toys
We currently don’t charge any late fees - we understand life happens. Please let us know if you can’t return toys on time, and we will remind you if toys are very overdue.
What about missing pieces? Damage?
MISSING PIECES are charged at $5 per piece, but this is usually waived for small, non-essential pieces. Usually, the best option is to borrow the toy again, and you'll find it! If the missing piece means the toy can no longer be used, we'll chat to you about an appropriate fee.
DAMAGE: we expect our toys to be played with and a certain amount of normal wear and tear is expected. Damage over and above this will be charged at $5. If the damage means the toy can no longer be used, we'll chat to you about an appropriate fee.

Do you accept donations of toys?
Yes! We welcome donations of good quality toys, games and puzzles that are complete and in very good condition. Please email us pictures of the items first so we can check they are suitable. No books or soft toys please.
Can I volunteer with you?
Yes! We always appreciate extra help - please email us. For example, students have enjoyed volunteering with us as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and school service requirements.
Can I help in other ways?
Absolutely! There are lots of behind the scenes ways you can help: electrician (tagging and testing), bike repair + maintenance, woodworking skills (toy repair) - to name a few. Please email us - we'd love to hear from you.
